Jack Black’s celebration for receiving Hollywood star was brilliant

Love him or hate him, you can’t deny that Jack f**ken Black has carved his own specific niche in Hollywood. From Tenacious D to Anchorman, from School of Rock to Goosebumps, and from Kung Fu Panda to Be Kind Rewind, he always does a great job of bringing a great deal of Jack Black to everything he does. And that’s not a bad thing. Especially when, he is, by all accounts, a top f**ken bloke on and off-screen. It’s no surprise then that he celebrated the unveiling of his star on Hollywood’s walk of fame with his trademark humour.

The thing you’ve got to love about Jack Black is that he knows what his shtick is, and he keeps delivering it. Some might say things can get a bit stale after a while, but the reality is those people who want to see Jack Black movies want him to do a few key things.

And then there’s the rock n roll side of Black. For many, this is his prime skill. The dude can rock out with the best of them. If you’ve ever seen the D live, you’ll know that he’s having a f**ken whale of a time. And, in fairness, I don’t know what the experts reckon about his vocals, but they’re pretty bloody great in my book.

The main thing about both aspects of his public persona – he looks like he’s bloody enjoying himself. His speech when receiving a star on Hollywood’s walk of fame attests to the childlike thrill he gets from it all.

“I’ve wanted one of these things for so long. Since I was a kid I thought, ‘Oh man, if you get one of those stars on the sidewalk that means you’ve made it.’ And I feel like I’ve finally grasped that sweet brass ring.”

And of course, the legend then delivered a kickass rock n roll reference: “In the immortal words of Axl Rose, ‘Where do we go now?’ […] I got the thing! Why continue? I’ve made it!”

Never fear though, he assures us he’ll be back for more Kung Fu Panda, more Jumanji, and another Tenacious D movie.

Final thought: Better start practicing the cock push-ups, because you want to be in great shape when that new Tenacious D movie comes out. Rock on, Jack, you f**ken legend!
