IKEA has recreated several famous TV living rooms using only in-store products

When you spend a heap of time watching your favourite shows on the idiot box, you can feel like ya part of the onscreen family. If your beloved TV show runs for a healthy number of seasons, you can even feel like their in ya living room right there with ya. For those of us that want a more immersive TV experience, check out Ikea’s new ad campaign.

The new ad campaign was released recently by Ikea in the United Arab Emirates and features three recognisable TV lounge rooms.

Ikea’s made it easier than the local town bike to get the bits and pieces ya need to replicate Rach and Monica’s purple apt in Friends:

And if the “upside down” is more your style, check out this setup from “Stranger Things.”

Managing Director at Ikea in the UAE, Vinod Jayan said:

“The Ikea team worked closely with the creatives for months. They went through hundreds of items to find the perfect pieces that would bring those iconic rooms. It was a great collaborative effort that led up to a stunning result. A true testament of what IKEA represents: a place where everyone can bring whatever idea they see or have to life.”

My favourite though? This familiar living room at Evergreen Terrace, Springfield. I grew up with The Simpsons every night at 6pm.

I reckon Ikea’s marketing team needs a bloody raise, they f**cken nailed this ad campaign. This is a really original approach to advertising that’s got the Internet chatting all about it. Mission accomplished I reckon.

Final Thought:

What TV show lounge room would have you forking over the cash to recreate the look at your own joint? I’ll be completely on board when Ikea comes out with affordable options for the Iron Throne and GOT themed rooms based on ya favourite house. #housestark

Ikea’s marketing team really hit this one out of the park, this iconic ad campaign is bloody genius in my humble opinion. Now if they could just make those f**cken flat packs a little easier to put together, we’d be set.
