This US sheila’s culture shock upon moving to Oz is f#@*en gold!

One of the big bloody joys of travelling the world is that it gives you a new perspective on your own neck of the woods. Yeah, nah, deadset. It lets you see how much we do differently here in Straya and helps you realise how f**ken sweet we actually have it. No s**t, we’re a pretty bloody lucky country. But when you spin that s**t around and look it from someone else’s perspective, it makes for an interesting gander. Fortunately, that’s where Kaymie Wuerfel, a Yankee sheila who goes by the TikTok handle of kayywuerf, comes in.

Fair dinkum, this sheila’s only moved to Oz fairly recently, and as a result of her boyfriend showing her the ropes, she’s getting to see just how different we are to the US. Obviously, there are the big differences that come as advertised, but if you’ve got your wits about you, you’ll know it’s the day to day life that often needs the biggest adjustments.

And no s**t, when we look at some of this it’s hard not to laugh. Yeah, nah, some of it is so on the money that we wouldn’t even realise it’s unusual to some people.

Of course, the flipside of that it that some of the s**t that’s f**ken awesome makes you wonder just how in the blue f**k it’s not a universal thing. You know, like bank transfers, a minimum wage, and including tax in the advertised price.

Final thought: Mate, we know for a fact that tonnes of the locals out there know all about this. We’re a country that’s built on immigration. We take all comers and we f**ken revel in it.
