$1500 Telsa surfboards sells out instantly

F**ken Tesla – the technology giant, not the fairly decent rock band – have set themselves up as one of the primo environmentally-friendly and socially woke companies of the modern era. With tonnes of cool inventions, electric cars and publicity stunts under their belt, it was only a matter of time before the company turned its hand to another environmental achievement. With that in mind, here it is: their hydro-powered surfboard.

Yeah, nah, no sh*t, Tesla have brought out a limited edition surfboard. While it looks like the kind of doohickey that’d give you Wi-Fi so you can live-stream your fully sick moves while you’re carving up the waves, it won’t. It is however, completely hydro-powered.

Deadset, all you need to make the f**ker work is water. Well, water with a bit of a current – you know, like you’d find at the beach. These stylish bewdies will, apparently, come to life when you put them in the water. Not literally, of course, but that’s where you’ll get the best out of ‘em. There’s something about the design that gives them the ability to travel across the surface of the water when they catch the current of a wave.

This high-tech bullsh*t will revolutionise the surfing industry. Yeah, nah, that’s bullsh*t. Don’t be a drongo and think they’re actually a high-tech anything. The product launch has been a bit of a strange one with a webpage appearing then disappearing, but these are pretty much just a Tesla collector’s item. Unfortunately, with only about 200 made, they’ve been snapped up pretty f**ken quickly.

Having said that, the bloody things weren’t cheap. Priced at around $1500 dollary-doos, they’re almost twice the price of a regular surfboard made by the same manufacturer, Lost.

If you managed to snag yourself one, let us know how that high-tech hydro-electric propulsion technology goes once you get it on the water. IF you get it on the water.

Final thought: Whether you love or hate Elon Musk and his company, you have to admit that a surfboard is a pretty cool collector’s item. It’ll look f**ken mint in the games room.
