New Zealand minister’s TV interview interrupted by son who found a carrot that looks like a wang
We’re gonna take a stab in the dark here, and reckon that most of the people in our audience are the kind of people who can find humour in life’s small joys. You know, like a cock-shaped carrot. If so, that means you’re like us. It means we could be friends. And, apparently, the young bloke who’s just interrupted his mum’s television interview with a fine example of the form could be our mate too.
Deadset, despite all the inconvenience and heartbreak that Covid’s caused, it’s given us small joys we can latch onto, and this video represents one of them.
That moment when you’re doing a LIVE interview via Zoom & your son walks into the room shouting & holding a deformed carrot shaped like a male body part. 🙄🤦🏽♀️ Yes, we were almost wrestling over a carrot on camera, and yes, I’m laughing about it now but wasn’t at the time! 🥴 pic.twitter.com/oUbcpt8tSu

While Carmel Sepuloni, New Zealand’s first MP of Tongan descent and Minister for Social Development and Employment, was giving an interview to Radio Samoa, she ended up having a barney with her son.
I love his smile as he shows you the carrot

The reason for that barney is bloody simple. He had a classic cock ’n’ ball shaped carrot. And, yeah, having a look at it, it’s not a bad representation.
A big up’s to all our parents working from home and parenting at the same time — I see you! ❤️
*Note to self: I will never buy the odd shaped carrot pack again. 🙅🏽♀️🥕

Thankfully, Sepuloni saw the funny side, posting footage of the incident to Twitter.

I love this so much. I wonder if @Robert_E_Kelly has seen it? 🙃 pic.twitter.com/djQ2wlPOve

She later went on to say that she wouldn’t be buying the ‘odd-shaped’ carrot pack again.
Best of all, though, people online saw the funny side. And why wouldn’t they. There’s no way around it, wanger-shaped veggies are funny. Yeah, nah, they are.
Final thought: Given that this isn’t the first time we’ve seen interruptions to work-from-home moments, we reckon some of you might have stories of your own. If you do, share ‘em in the comments section. We’d love to hear ‘em!
