These pics are a perfect example of how different Instagram vs reality is

We all know that pretty much anything released about celebrities, personalities and ‘influencers’ that’s within their own ken to control is usually a load of Photoshopped and doctored bulls**t. It’s nothing new. People have been talking about it for f**ken years. Unfortunately, the s**t’s only gotten worse with time. With the proliferation of Celebrity social media and Instagram accounts constantly pumping content into the world, there’s probably more people than ever struggling to meet the unachievable and unrealistic beauty standards set by their idols. Fortunately, some people are still preaching the word about it all…

One of those blokes is YouTuber Ethan Klein. In a recent video, he asks, “have you ever wondered why does everyone look so beautiful, why does everyone have such a perfect life, why’s everyone having so much fun, have perfect skin, is always smiling and laughing; why is my life so boring as I sit here in my underwear covered in bread crumbs, sad and alone?

From there, he goes to town on loads of manipulated celebrity images. Justin Bieber and Kylie Jenner both get the treatment, and so do the Instagrammers ruining California’s super-bloom. At one stage, he does everyone a solid and highlights how the Photoshopping goes way past body shape. “Somehow no one has pores but me and you, right? I mean, my skin’s messed up when you see it up close.” Then he shows Justin Bieber looking like a slice of two day old pizza. “He’s got acne, right?”

You can watch the video to see how much other f**kery Klein highlights. Of course, you might be well aware of this, but brains are funny bloody things. We all know this s**t goes on, but do we really process it when we’re confronted by image after image of beautiful bloody celebrity?

Final thought: It’s pretty bloody good to remind yourself what people really look like from time to time. On top of that, if you’ve got young buggers who are of an age to start thinking about their own body image, this is a tops bloody vid to show them the truth of it all.
