Elon Musk asks Twitter to send him ‘Dank Memes’, it backfires

Elon Musk, the well-known bloke behind Tesla, has been on something of a roller-coaster ride of late. Whether he’s been selling flame-throwers and smoking a spliff with Joe Rogan or whether he’s been in sh*t with his board and the courts for business-related faux pas, the guy has been experiencing a few ups and downs. Anyway, taking to Twitter to enjoy some down time and laugh at a few memes, he put the call out to his followers to ‘entertain him’ with their dankest memes…

We’re not a hundred per cent sure why Musk wanted to look at memes, but we’re certain it has nothing to do with that joint Joe Rogan got him baked with. We’re certainly not alleging that he really liked getting high and has been hitting the whacky-tobaccy ever since, we’re just saying it’s a possibility.

Anyway, amidst tweets about the fact Tesla doesn’t ‘refresh’ their vehicles every three years but actually upgrades their hardware and tweets that thanked Tesla owners and supporters for their ongoing support, he put out the call:

Send me ur dankest memes!! – Elon Musk

In fairness, just before he requested the onslaught of sh*t-posting memes that came his way, he did tweet another meme first.

Oh, and he also demanded people didn’t send him memes about moths. We dunno what he’s got against moths, but for some reason he just wasn’t keen for jokes about lamps.

Anyway, the responses were great. As you would expect considering Musk has some twenty-three million followers. Among the responses though, several people sought to lay the smack down on the reefer-smoking, fossil-fuel-avoiding, entrepreneur.

After a few memes came his way, he clarified his point:

In summary, whatever’s going on with Elon right now, we love that he’s engaging with his followers – and he certainly seems to have taken it all in good humour. And why wouldn’t he? If he was grumpy, he could just cry into his millions and millions of dollars.

Final thought: Musk’s a good bloke. Even if some people wanted to put sh*t on him, you can’t fault someone for wanting to enjoy a good laugh. And who knows, maybe he was having a bad day and just needed cheering up. You’d have to take advantage of that many followers on a day like that wouldn’t ya.
