Bloke parades engagement ring in front of missus to see how long it takes her to notice

Let’s be honest, one of the best things about having a significant other is the banter. Deadset, if you’re not winding them up or having fun with them, you’re bloody well doing it wrong. So when we saw that a bloke on the internet had been parading an engagement ring in front of his missus without her noticing, we knew we had to share it with you lot. Have a bloody squiz.

Rightio, the bloke in question is Edi Okoro. Edi knew his sheila, Cally, was the right one for him. In fact, he wanted to marry her. Of course, that left him the problem of deciding just how to propose. As you may be aware, that means you’ve gotta spend some time figuring it out. That increases the risk of discovery, and that, as Edi explains is how he came up with his little experiment.

“I can finally put this out there. This was how I proposed to Cally:

Those who have gone through this (and those who will soon find out) you want to propose in a way that speaks to you as a person and couple. Some plan a flash mob, a fancy meal, or even arrange a marry me sign. I couldn’t do this because “Edi doesn’t plan” …. I’m a spontaneous improviser!”

That reputation as a spontaneous improviser caused Edi some issues. If he planned anything, Cally, who he met at athletics, would have known something was up.

“Because of this I took the ring with me everywhere hoping the “moment” would arise in line with my spontaneous style. After a month or so of waiting for the right moment, I was sitting on the sofa admiring “my precious” (yes I became very attached to this ring by this point) Cally almost caught me staring at the ring, and it hit me!….All these missed opportunities mixed in with the thought – Cally doesn’t know I have the ring!! I should just start documenting these moments!”

The result, in our humble opinion is bloody bonza. And, if we’re completely honest, someone should probably tell Cally that she needs to pay a bit more attention to the world around her. Seriously, how do you not notice this stuff?

Final thought: There’s always space on the internet for a bloody good proposal story. If you’ve got one, let us know in the comments.
