This year’s Comedy Wildlife Photo Award finalists are bloody gold

If there’s one photo competition we really friggen love, it’s gotta be The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards. And, really, how could we not. Everyone loves a bloody good wildlife photograph, but when you get photos of animals in compromised, rude, amusing or candid situations, it’s just bloody awesome. Anyway, it’s that time of the year again, and the finalists don’t disappoint. Have a bloody squiz and let us know your favourite.

If you know anything about this competition, you’ll know that it’s all about two things: ‘Firstly, a need for a photography competition that was light hearted, upbeat, possibly unpretentious’ and, after that, it’s ‘mainly about wildlife doing funny things.’

It’s fair to say the competition smashes those goals out of the park.

Of course, it doesn’t end there. By getting people talking about wildlife, Paul and Tom, the founder of the competition and the Chair of the judges, hope that they’ll also get people talking about conservation by, “going to [their]office, home, pub, club or wherever and talking about the dire need for us all to be conservationists in our own little way.”

This year’s forty finalists feature some of your faves. As usual, there’s a bucketload of primates large and small, some birds, some bugs, a squirrel or two, and a couple of bears. Have a good bloody squiz at these and laugh your arse off.

Once you’ve done that, head to Born Free’s website and check out their goals. That’s the big charity that Paul and Tom from the awards want you to suss out and maybe even donate to.

Final thought: Honestly, we don’t know where we’d be without animals. We bloody love ‘em and we’re absolutely certain they make the world a better place. We reckon the blokes are right that everyone needs to be a conservationist in some way. Whether that means you invite the native wildlife into yoru backyard or you just spread the word is up to you, but we reckon it’s a bloody good goal to keep in mind.
