Elon Musk follows woman on Twitter, she thanks him, then he unfollows

Elon Musk. As you know, he’s a bloody billionaire. He’s also a bit of a cult figure. Yeah, nah, between his plans to get into space, his plans to royally f**k the night-time sky for everyone, and his renowned Twitter account, he’s managed to position himself as the ‘lovable billionaire next door’. Naturally, you can imagine that for fans of Elon’s, earning a social media follow from the big man himself is a pretty proud moment. Especially if he doesn’t s**t on it moments later.

Of course, the chances of that happening are few and far between. If you know much about Elon, you probably know he’s already on another planet entirely, so a recent Twitter interaction between him and a gushing fan were no surprise.

The poor sheila, Rebecca, a space enthusiast and fan of Musk’s was bloody thrilled to see that he had given her a follow on social media. She was so bloody thrilled in fact, that she thanked him for it online, saying she was “delighted and honoured.”

Musk, though, not meaning to have followed the lass couldn’t just quietly unfollow her and move on with his life. Yeah, nah, he bloody shamed her out. “Sorry, accidental tap!” he replied before unfollowing her.

Of course, it has to be said that bloody Rebecca handled the rebuke well. “Thanks for the accidental tap!” she responded.

Naturally, others jumped on the exchange, and from there Elon stuck it out for a little bit longer, interacting with the common-folk. When another fan said it must have been little X messing around, Musk mentioned that the kid does like to play with the phone.

Yeah, nah, it’s an interesting one, and it’s hard not to feel this could have been handled a little better.

Final thought: Yeah, look, we usually don’t mind having a bit of a chuckle with Elon. He makes for some decent headlines, and even though he comes across as a bit of a goofball, we like the bloke. And although, we reckon the initial aspect of this was a bit s**t, he definitely redeemed it with his later comments. What about you lot? What do you reckon?
